Maintaining a Healthy State of Mind

An illustration of an angry, happy, and sad face
As a full-service in-home and telehealth provider, South Carolina and Georgia House Calls (SC & GA HC) include psychotherapy as one of its essential specialty services. These specialists working closely with the primary care practitioners, offer support for patients experiencing depression, anxiety, complicated grief, or any standard classification of mental disorder recognized by mental health professionals.

Counseling helps guide patients by creating a space where the patient and caregiver can express their concerns – using plain language without medical jargon and a non-judgmental attitude.

For many elderly patients, struggles can stem from the effects of loss—the loss of a spouse, friend, role, or even independence. In addition, this is often coupled with anticipated fear of future losses. The purpose of psychotherapy is to relieve suffering and to allow patients to function as normally as possible.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy assists residents with chronic illnesses and manages symptoms to improve quality of life through positive psychosocial outcomes. The SC & GA HC team of 12+ social workers based in the Center for Telemedicine perform virtual outreach to patients throughout their region. Our Masters-prepared social workers provide counseling while working directly with our psych providers to meet patient needs.

SC House Calls & GA House Calls is a network of over 250 medical professionals providing In-home medical house calls and Telehealth visits to Private Residences, Assisted Living Communities, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. SC House Calls serves all 46 Counties of South Carolina. New patient registration, appointments, and 24-7 access to medical professionals are available through its Center for Telehealth @ 800-491-0909
