Nurse Practitioners, Leading the Healthcare Revolution for Patient Access

November 13 is the start of National Nurse Practitioner Week and presents an opportunity for healthcare companies, co-workers, and patients to recognize these medical professionals' exceptional dedication and skill.

April Kapu, the current president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), stated, "our top priority as NPs is to make sure every American has adequate access to health care." That same mission is implemented daily within South Carolina & Georgia House Calls (SC & GA HC). The SC & GA HC NPs provide essential in-home healthcare services to thousands of patients throughout South Carolina & Georgia each month.

According to an article published on the Nurse Journal website, NPs nationally see approximately 1.6 billion patients yearly. And with the current physician shortage projected to increase to 124,000 by 2034, NPs are well-positioned to fill that gap in primary and specialty care services. In other words, NPs on the front lines helping patients live healthier lives is the future of healthcare.

In addition to delivering primary care services, the patient-centric model used within SC & GA HC utilizes education and in-house specialists to treat the whole patient. Seeing patients regularly in their environment builds trust, and that trust will often lead to better outcomes when counseling and educating patients about better lifestyle choices.
SC House Calls & GA House Calls is a network of over 250 medical professionals providing In-home medical house calls and Telehealth visits to Private Residences, Assisted Living Communities, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. SC House Calls serves all 46 Counties of South Carolina. New patient registration, appointments, and 24-7 access to medical professionals are available through its Center for Telehealth @ 800-491-0909
